Cambewarra / Bangalee / Tapitallee

Bangalee Wharf, Bangalee Nature Reserve.

Perhaps one of the most scenic drives on the South Coast is the beautiful winding drive from the base of Cambewarra Mountain and up the pass to Kangaroo Valley. Taking in lush rainforest ferns and timbers the drive provides outstanding views over the coastal plateau and ocean below. At its peak, the Cambewarra Lookout, which is open daily, makes a good morning tea or lunch stop, and on weekends is a popular hang gliding location.
Bangalee – Cambewarra & Surrounds is a mainly rural area, with some rural-residential areas, and recent residential areas in Cambewarra Village. Predominate industries include agriculture. The majority of the workforce commutes to Nowra/Bomaderry. Cambewarra Village has a median age of 39 and is 8km from Nowra. Cambewarra Village has the highest household income of all towns and villages in Shoalhaven.
Local facilities include a corner shop with post office, one primary school, tennis court, Scout Hall and Cambewarra Estate Winery.
