Ray White Nowra supporting Local Show Girl

By Tanya Chapman

The aim of the Showgirl Competition is to find a person most suited to represent the young rural women of her local area. It is not a beauty pageant. Entrants should have a genuine interest in rural NSW and the involvement of women in their local community.

The contestants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech. Candidates are also asked to demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs.

On Saturday night, after almost 12 hours of having their etiquette examined and attitudes to agricultural issues checked out at Worrigee House, an entrant was chosen for the honour out of a field of seven.
