New LEP

The draft Shoalhaven LEP 2013 will be on public exhibition from Wednesday 3 April until Friday 10 May 2013 (inclusive) between 9am and 5pm at the City Administrative Centre, Bridge Road, Nowra. This is the second exhibition of the draft LEP which has been amended following the first exhibition.  It applies to all land within the Shoalhaven Local Government Area (LGA) and will ultimately replace the current Shoalhaven LEP 1985.

Viewing Locations

The draft LEP and supporting information will also be available for viewing online at www.slep2013.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au and at a number of different locations throughout the City including:

  • Nowra Library – 10 Berry Street, Nowra
  • Bay and Basin Leisure Centre – 167A The Wool Road, Vincentia
  • Sanctuary Point Library – 34 Paradise Beach Road, Sanctuary Point
  • Ulladulla Administration Building – 14 Deering Street, Ulladulla
  • Ulladulla Library – 81B Princes Highway, Ulladulla

Drop-in Sessions

Council will also be hosting public ‘drop-in sessions’ to enable the community to view the draft LEP, speak with Council staff and make submissions.  The date and location for the ‘drop-in sessions’ are detailed below:

How to make a submission?

Written comments on the draft LEP are invited and should be made in writing before 5pm on Friday 10 May 2013.  Submissions can be made in the following ways: 

  • Online at www.slep2013.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au , or
  • By email to SLEP2013@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au, or
  • Post to:                SLEP 2013 Submission

Please note that correspondence submitted to Council on this matter may be open for public inspection without notifying the correspondent. Pre-printed form letters, which have been individually signed, will be considered but not formally acknowledged.  

Submissions may become public documents and may be viewed by other persons on request. All persons who lodge a submission are required to declare any relevant political donations and/or gifts in accordance with Section 147(5) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Action 1979.

 What happens next?

Following the exhibition period, Council’s Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Group reviews all submissions and reports these to Council. Once Council has considered the submissions, the draft LEP is adopted and submitted to the Department of Planning & Infrastructure for finalisation and commencement.
